While a lot of people view Bentley and Rolls Royce like two peas in a pod, there’s a slight difference between the two, and that distinction, for some, is what puts Bentley on top. The difference in question is Bentley’s vast racing heritage and experience, from which the company draws its design ideas and vision. Later, these are translated into their road-going models, instilled together with perfect build quality and amazing comfort levels. The British car maker usually flaunts their racing pedigree whenever they need to rub the noses of their competition, but also, when they need to utilize it whenever they are entering a new racing competition.

The same scenario happened with the Bentley Continental GT3 and the Blancpain Endurance Series in Europe and the Pirelli World Challenge in the United States. In turn, this yielded one of the most impressive (performance wise) luxury coupes ever to grace the tarmac.

Priced at $339,725 – or more than $135,000 over the base Continental V8 S – the Bentley Continental GT3-R is a beast in its own right. Unlike racing turned road car solutions that are employed by most of the automotive industry, Bentley really made an effort that allowed the GT3-R to become a fully usable car in real-world driving scenarios.

The car doesn’t come with a roll cage, it doesn’t feature rear-wheel drive as the only option, and not even a sequential gearbox is used. No Sir! The Bentley Continental GT3-R is a luxury supercar that comes with similar power levels and handling prowess as the purebred racer but also exerts comfort and style, making it stay true to the well-known traits of today’s Bentley road going vehicles.

The Bentley GT3-R is powered by a 4.0 Liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, delivering an impressive 572 horsepower and 516 lb-ft, of torque. But, in case you need to get from a standstill to 217km/h (135 mph) in a hurry, it’ll deliver 592 horsepower and 553 lb-ft. of torque for up to 15 seconds – thanks to an overboost function.  In turn, the GT3-R can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 3.4 seconds. A highly remarkable performance number for a car that weighs a whopping 2239kg (4937 lbs).

In a way, when we were approached by our EVS Motors, our authorized dealer in Houston, Texas, we were faced with an interesting challenge. Since the vehicle beforehand is a heavy, performance oriented machine, producing the utmost perfectly balanced set of wheels presented a challenging task for our engineering department.

We had to utilize the well-known design of our ADV05R Directional M.V2 CS Series wheels and adhere to demands that are born from the vehicle’s weight, style, and overall performance. Working closely with EVS Motors and using their experience in the field, we managed to capture all the necessary engineering parameters and have created a wheel that adheres to the top-heavy Continental GT3-R, but also, a set of wheels that accentuate its looks perfect.

For this Bentley Continental GT3-R, these ADV05R wheels are sized 21×10.5 in the front and 21×10.5 in the rear. Thanks to a selection of a Gloss Black finish for the wheels, matched with an OEM centercap option, the wheels fit the vehicle’s persona nicely. Furthermore, the customer opted-in for a 50/50 Exposed Titanium Hardware Option, complete with British Racing Green fasteners, further lowering the overall unsprung mass and elevating the intricate design details of these wheels to a whole new level.

This Bentley, alongside with plenty of other ADV.1 laden builds, will be showcased at the 2018 Houston Auto Show. The vehicles can be seen at booth #201, Hall A from January 24th – January 28th.

Be sure to drop by the booth, as you will be greeted by our friendly sales and marketing staff, who will, alongside EVS Motors, answer any questions you may have about ordering a custom set of forged wheels.
