For people that want to stand out, ordering an Alpina is not something that should be done. The factory-tuned BMW’s coming from this German company are subtle. They have their own design traits, perfectly filled with understated luxury wrapped into a high-performance package in every single area. On the other hand, some owners wish to have comfortable ride with all the luxury perks, but also, like to have similar or equal to BMW M6 performance – hence, they go for the Alpina B6 Gran Coupe – like the one we have here.
The current-generation Alpina B6 is powered by the new generation 4.4 liter V8 Bi-Turbo engine. It delivers a whopping 441 kW (600 hp) and a maximum torque of 800 Nm, allowing the Gran Coupe to accelerate from 0-62mph (0 to 100km/h) in only 4.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 330 km/h (205mph). The fuel consumption measured according to the ECE norm is 9.4 l/100 km and 219 g/km CO2. In United States terms, that’s approximately 25mpg.
If you want to measure Alpina’s performance against M6’s performance, the M6 Gran Coupe will do the acceleration thing in 4.1 seconds – seemingly only relatively faster than this thing. For another matter, Alpina cars are de-limited and don’t pose a threat to your high-speed needs, conveyed by the electronically limited top speed issue found on BMW’s high-performance models right now.
The Alpina B6 Gran Coupe is clearly a luxury ridden vehicle. So, when the owner of this particular Alpina Blue Metallic beauty decided to take it to TAG Motorsports for some new shoes & stance, we were called upon. Our main goal was to match its classy & understated exterior.
The choice was made for a set of ADV10.0 M.V2 SL Series wheels. For this build, the wheels are sized 21×9 in the front and 21×10 in the rear, respectively. Matching its clean exterior is a Brushed Aluminum finish, which, along a showing hardware option, adds a perfect finishing touch. Check out the full wallpaper gallery below.
